From ArtTech series- Pictured "I am quite precious, " uses medically grade silicone rubber to create forms and to use space in contrast to paint and light. Silicone rubber is the most used material in the fabrication of neural interface electrodes due to its biocompatibility and longevity. They are mainly used to protect our body from unwanted electrical stimulations while protecting the electronics from aggressive biological fluids. This makes this material extremely valuable and demandable. The artist has used the excess material from the production series and truned it to an unknown object in this work. This anonymity is, however, not far from the actual public understanding of a neural implant.

From ArtTech series- The work is titled "I thought I could live forever", an oil painting based on actual brain-signals from a rat during the last 60-seconds of his life. This was a part of our study investigating the anti-depressive effects of deep brain stimulation (DBS). For this work, the original data was collected using a micro-sized carbon fiber electrode in combination with a sensing technique (fast-scan cyclic voltammetry) in the animal's brain. For this painting, a 3D representation of the sensing readouts was used. The vertical access here represents the applied potential in volts which is plotted versus the time of the experiment. The color intensity indicates the amplitude of the recorded neurochemical activities in the rat's brain. In another word, every color and every shade may represent some thoughts and expressions the rat went through over his last 60 seconds.
